How Can I Train for a Career in Natural Medicine?
Chiropractic is a professional degree that can be pursued at a variety of state and private colleges. As such it requires approximately 7 years of schooling as well as practical experience and licensing. Acupuncture and nutrition are also careers in natural medicine that can be pursued via many traditional methods, at most colleges. Nutritionists can practice with a minimum of a bachelor's degree while acupuncturists require a Master's, practical experience and licensing. Masseuses require formal training and licensure in most states and most massage therapists pursue one or two disciplines of massage in their practice. There are certificate programs available for herbal education and reflexology. However, many of these and other careers in natural medicine receive a less formal education in the form of apprenticeship training.
